Senior Wind Band Achieve Gold Plus Award

The cluster brass ensemble and the senior wind band all attended the Scottish Concert Band Festival at Inveralmond at the weekend.  The cluster brass ensemble competed in the brass ensemble category and were awarded a Silver Plus award. The students were great and we have primary 6 and 7 pupils in this band from Carmondean and Deans. Digital Deans Team - Winners of Design a Gadget

Brass Ensemble Entertain Guests at Christmas Ball

The Deans Community High School Brass Ensemble performed recently for the Ashwood Scotland Ltd Annual Christmas Ball at the Hilcroft Hotel. Senior Handball Team Keep on Winning!

What a week it has been for our S5/6 handball team!  Having won the national championships last week, the team made their way to Linlithgow Academy, defending their West Lothian title.  After a win against Inveralmond (5-3) and draws against Linlithgow (3-3) and St Margaret's (4-4) the team was through to the final against Linlithgow.  It was an excellent game of handball in which our team came back from being a goal down to win ...Read More

Students Complete XL Healthy Lifestyle Unit

The XL group took a trip to the Prince's Trust premises in Glasgow last week.  They had a very successful day completing their Healthy Lifestyle Unit by cooking Spaghetti Bolognese and Garlic Bread.  They enjoyed using the facilities throughout the day and the boys even managed to beat Mr Gray at pool.  A great day was had by all!  ...Read More

The Wiz Show a Great Success

Two National Handball Titles for Deans

Our S3/4 and S5/6 handball teams returned to Deans on Friday with BOTH Scottish Schools' Handball trophies! The S3/4 team sailed through to the final with wins against Our Lady's, Kelvinside, Duncanrig and Marr. They met Duncanrig in the final and won convincingly with a 15-4 victory! The S5/6 team also had wins against Linlithgow, Our Lady's, Kyle and Auchinleck. Dance Championship Winners

The West Lothian Secondary Schools Dance Championships were held on Wednesday 9th November at Howden Park Centre.  All 11 secondary schools entered this competition with over 100 students competing.  There were two categories; junior team and senior team.   Teams were required to create their own choreography based on a theme and perform infront of a sold out audience, as well as three judges.  The judges were Reiss Dunn ...Read More

Annual Employability Day a Great Success

Deans Win Place in Construction Challenge Finals

A group of S2 students recently competed in the inter-school Construction and Build Environment Challenge (CABEC) at West Lothian College..
