Health and Wellbeing

Convention on the rights of the child (CRC)

Article 6 (survival and development) says... 'Every child has the right to life. Governments must do all they can to ensure that children survive and grow up healthy.'

Fresh Air Policy

Everyone is entitled to breathe fresh air - it is prohibited to smoke within our school grounds.  This includes everywhere within our school fences and entrance gate areas.  Anyone found to be smoking will be asked to stop and reported to the headteacher/deputy headteachers.  They will also be offered free support from Cloud 9.

Our policy can be found at the main reception. Students have been made aware of this policy at assemblies and during tutor or PSE.  The Fresh Air Policy powerpoint is uploaded below.

Thanks to Kieran Weir and Ross Gilmour who designed posters to advertise our "Fresh Air Policy".  The posters are uploaded below and displayed around the school.

School Meals

A wide range of healthy options, hot meals, hot and cold snacks are available daily in the school restaurant.  Food is available in the morning between 8am and 8:25am, at morning interval and lunchtime.  The restaurant operates a swipe card system for the purchase of goods.  Students are issued with pin numbers and shown how our cashless catering system works.  A sample menu is available below.

All students are discouraged from visiting the local supermarket or take-aways at lunchtime.
